One of my friends moved to Charleston for work and I finally had the chance to visit her. I had been meaning to for awhile and finally had a weekend I could drive up. I had been to Charleston a couple times before but I loved seeing it from the eyes of someone who lives there. She definitely knew where to the next Charleston food was. Our weekend consisted eating which I was not mad about. So here are some recommendations for food on you next weekend trip to Charleston South Carolina.
Viscious Biscuit:
These biscuits were on another level. If you are looking for a fluffy biscuit then this is your place. I built my own biscuit which had pimento cheese, egg and their honey drizzle on it. My choice did not disappoint me. They also have gluten free biscuits! I had never seen that before so I thought that was awesome.

Mesu:
If you are in the mood for some Mexican and sushi then head over to Mesu. First of all everything we had was delicious. We ordered some chips and dip to start and their queso was our favorite. For my meal I got their chicken tacos and I tried some of their sushi that my friend ordered and it was so good. I normally am not a huge sushi lover but the roll was out of this world.
Tattooed Moose:
Looking for a good place to grab a drink and eat some food? Tattooed Moose is known as a dive bar with sandwiches, craft beer and duck fries. We came here to grab a few drinks and ended up ordering some fries as well. The area around here has grown so much and I can’t wait to explore more of Park Circle on my next visit.
Carmella’s:
This dessert bar has been featured on the Travel Channel, Food Network, and others. This is a place you CAN’T miss while visiting Charleston. There is a reason this place has been featured in so many places and they deserves all the credit they get. I wouldn’t be shocked if there is a line but it moves pretty fast. There is also an option to sit at the bar and you can order drinks and your dessert from there instead of waiting in line. Sitting at the bar is highly recommended as the bartenders are hilarious. We had so many laughs which just added to our experience making it more memorable. Have I convinced you to go yet? Hope so.
Brew:
If you are staying in the North Charleston area, you gotta check out this coffee shop. It has a nice outdoor patio where you can sit and drink your tea, matcha, or coffee. They have It was a good place to start our morning before heading to another farmers market. This isn’t just a coffee shop though they also serve beer and wine. So you are able to order coffee flights or beer flights, who would’ve thought?

So there are my food recommendations for Charleston. This city has so much to offer from food to history. I can not wait to come back for another visit to discover more delicious food. Can’t wait to try more food in Charleston next visit!
Places I am looking forward to on my next visit:
Shem Creek for the restaurants with views
Taco Boy
Bar Vaute
Little Palm
