We stayed in Springdale this little town right next to Zion for two nights at the Holiday Inn Express. This gave us one and half days to explore the park. The first day there we arrived in the afternoon and spent the time driving the scenic route stopping to take pictures of animals and enjoyed watching sunset from inside the park. We also stopped by the visitor center to learn where we had to go for the next day. Since we went when the park was just opening back up after being closed due to Covid our overall experience was different. The shuttles were not running for us but I have seen posts about them running now. So this will make accessing the different trails much easier. We went towards the beginning in June so the weather was amazing. In the mornings for me it was a bit cold but then would warm up.
My main goal was hiking the Narrows since I had never done a hike like that before and was determined to do it. The Narrows and Angels Landing are the two main hikes in this park. I chose the Narrows since it intrigued me more but the views from Angels Landing look amazing so it is your preference. But after seeing the views from others hiking angels landing I will definitely have to make my way back one day to Zion.
We ended up hiking the narrows for about half the day and then hiked the emerald pools trail. We had one in our group who was slightly injured so we did not want to push our luck so we just drove around and did easy walks.
Here are some of the views we had on the trails:

If you are staying the night in Zion definitely eat at Oscar’s Cafe it is SO good. Warning their portions are huge! To make sure we had a meal while inside the park we grabbed sandwiches from the Sol Foods. For breakfast on the way out we went to Deep Creek Coffee Company and it was delicious.
BONUS: If you are traveling to Zion from Bryce NP or the opposite be sure to check out Coral Sand Dunes State park and stop for a bite to eat at Thunderbird (they have some great pie!).
