One of the main things I love to research for a trip is food. When there’s a place with good vibes and good food I know I have to go there. This trip was no different than any other. I did some research combined with my local Chicago friend to go to these amazing places. Like any trip we did not make it to all the ones I will list but it does give me a good reason to go back on another adventure to Chi town. This list filled the foodie side of me and I hope it does the same with you.
Beatnik
We came here for brunch and it did not disappoint. The whole place is just so cute. Seriously everywhere you look you are amazed by the decor of the place. Not to mention the food was delicious. They have multiple locations in Chicago but we chose to go to the one along the river which added a great view.
Hampton Social
If you love Rosé then this place has got to be on your list. They have their own in house Rosé along with others to choose from as well. We opted for non-alcoholic rosé drinks that certainly did not fall short of our expectations. As for the food, let’s just say there was nothing left on our plates.
Goddess and the Baker
This adorable cafe is a must for some morning coffee run, lunch or even a snack. They have the cutest cupcakes and cookies. I grabbed a matcha to start my morning off the right way.
Foxtrot
This cafe was an ideal stop after a long morning of walking. We decided to stop in to rest our legs and warm up as it was starting to get cold outside. Of course I had to try their matcha which was delicious.
Three Arts Cafe
This cafe is inside a restoration hardware and is literally beautiful. There is a fountain in the middle (pictured below) and its just so peaceful. We stopped here for an afternoon glass of wine. However they have a variety of food options which we did not realize before arriving.
Athena’s
This Greek restaurant filled that void of not being able to actually go to Greece. A trip to Chicago is not complete without a stop to Greektown so be sure to make a reservation to eat here. There’s also a little bakery Atropolis that had great greek pastries and sweets that you could take home as well.
Barcocina
This place has delicious Mexican food. Their tacos are very tasty and they have great drinks as well. We were able to make a last minute reservation here after the cubs game and I am so glad we got in.
Places for next time:
-
Wake N Bake
-
City Winery
-
Real Good Stuff Co.
-
Maison Marcel
-
La Fournette
-
Gino’s East
I also want to add that while in Chicago every waitress we had was phenomenal which I feel like is not normal when traveling. Seriously could not have had better people. If you plan to visit Chicago soon/ the near future I highly recommend getting reservations as soon as you can. Because of the time we are in if you don’t have a reservation then you will most likely have to wait over an hour for a table or will not be able to be seated at all.
Hope you enjoyed my Chicago food review! I will be adding to it after each visit. I hope to be able to go again soon.
